Ravi Shankar, Ph. D., MBA
Ravi is a Principal Analyst at Cabot Partners and covers cloud computing, strategic outsourcing, high performance computing, operational cost analytics, and product management. Ravi’s specialties include business case modeling, Total Value of Ownership (TVO) analysis, strategy formulation, competitive analysis, and product marketing. He has over 38 years of experience in sales, marketing, operations, consulting, and engineering disciplines.
Ravi started his career at Nuclear Energy Services as a product engineer designing products for the nuclear industry. Then over the next 26 years, he was at IBM in sales, marketing, service analytics, offering/brand management, competitive benchmarking, strategic outsourcing engagement support, and cloud operations. Then he moved on to Anthem, a major health insurance company. At Anthem, he focused on healthcare IT and creation of private healthcare exchanges. After Anthem and prior to joining Cabot Partners, Ravi was part of ISG, a nationally known IT consulting company as Principal Consultant for emerging technologies. In that position, he consulted with Fortune 500 clients to develop and implement their cloud transformation strategies. As part of ISG Research, he also authored multiple articles and white papers in cloud computing.
Ravi has a ME from Indian Institute of Science, Ph.D. in structural mechanics from Oklahoma State University, MBA from University of Connecticut with finance as the major area of concentration, and Advanced Business Certification in healthcare finance and insurance from University of Connecticut.
